Continued surgical support of ongoing programs in Mongolia, China, India, South Korea, Tanzania, Vietnam, and Mexico.

New projects include Russia, Kazakhstan, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, and Zambia.

 World Heart Foundation.

January 2004 - January 2008


A cooperative endeavor with the World Heart Foundation to start a model, standardized 6 year Cardiothoracic Residency program  in Shanghai, China, commenced in July, 2005, to be completed in July 2008. An additional cooperative effort was begun in India, January 2007.  A three month study of rural cardiac surgery and the Indian CT surgery residency training/education system was undertaken.
